Holiday Rentals

Staying in a holiday rental on your Hawaiian holiday is a great option, there are thousands to choose from. Whether you’re looking for a 5 bedroom waterfront house or a budget studio apartment you can find them on the islands, the choices are endless.
Sometimes looking for the perfect place for your stay can be a little overwhelming because there is so much to choose from, fear not we are here to make the process as easy as possible.

The first thing would be to decide on a few things

– The dates
– Where you want to stay
– Location is important
– Do some research to find the perfect place.
– What sort of property you want – House. Condo. Studio.
– How many bedrooms & bathrooms
– Filters. This is great to narrow down your search. View, Wifi, Parking, Pool or Air Conditioning.

Once you’ve decided on those things finding something perfect for your needs will be a lot easier.

There are a large amount of websites that list properties so it is best to go with the ones we have recommended for your peace of mind. We highly recommend that you use local holiday rental companies as they know all the laws & only rent legal properties.

Please be very carful booking through Air BnB because a large amount of there rentals are illegal, you can loose your booking & your money then be left with no where to stay.

It is also recommended that you read the reviews. Yes some people complain about the most ridiculous things – a mark on the wall or that there wasn’t enough spoons. Then others might tell you things that haven’t been said in the listing – a bar across the road that stays open until 3am playing loud music or there is a steep staircase that some people might find difficult to climb.

Once you have found the place you would like to rent it is always advised that you contact the owner or property manager before you book. Most properties are listed on multiple websites so you want to make sure that it is available before you make a payment.

When its comes time to make a payment make sure you check the total because there will more then likely be owners/management fees, taxes & a cleaning fee.

Most of the time you’ll have to pay a bond & that will have to be paid first with a deposit or the full amount depending on the property. It will be returned anywhere from 2-14 days after departure depending on who you book with & how you paid.

Communication is the key when booking a holiday rental. Research. Ask questions. Then make your booking!

Please be aware that there are strict laws about holiday rentals in Hawaii, make sure the property is legal. If the property is illegal you could lose your booking & your money. As mentioned before it is best to use reputable vacation rental businesses & websites.

When you’re staying in a property be sure to be respectful of the neighbours & the local environment. Parties & events are not to be held at most properties.

Note* Most websites will be in US dollars so if you’re coming from another country make sure you check what currency its in.
